OEP Trip: Whitewater Rafting

April 29, 2017 - 3:00pm

Sat. April 29th: Whitewater Rafting

Experienced whitewater rafting enthusiasts consider the American River one of the most beautiful and challenging runs for whitewater rafting in California. Your heart will race as you make your way through the whitewater rafting maze of cabin-sized boulders and drop over the waterfalls. From Chili Bar Reservoir to Folsom Lake, the South Fork American River flows 21 beautifully unbridled miles of exciting American River rafting. Over 25 major California river rafting rapids cut through some of the most varied geology in the Sierra. Along with the natural and human history, you'll thrill to the challenge of such ominous sounding California river rafting rapids as "Meatgrinder", "Troublemaker", "Satan's Cesspool" and "Hospital Bar"! We will be camping Friday night for an early morning start on the 21 mile run. Campus departure will be Friday evening between 5 - 6pm. Exact time to be agreed upon at the Pre-Trip meeting on Thursday. Trip fees include transportation, rafting equipment, guides, permits, group camping gear and two meals.

Price: Currently enrolled UCM students and Rec-Cen Members: $125, all others $225
