Week of Wilderness

A week of wilderness adventures including 2 days of whitewater rafting, one day of kayaking and 2 days of backpacking Yosemite Valley. There's lots of fun for everyone to come and join! You can make friends before the school year begins, as well as a memories to last you a life time. Discover the treasures that surround the Central Valley, while challenging yourself like never before.
 
The price of $350 includes: Food, transporation, guide fees, equipment, park fees, campground reservations, trail permits, and a group photo; value of over $650!
 
The WOW is an amazing experience for new students at UC Merced, both incoming freshmen and transfer students. During the trip, participants are introduced to both wilderness travel and their upcoming college experience; all within a healthy and safe group environment.

The amazing setting of Yosemite and the American River provides an excellent opportunity for students to form new friendships and connections to help ease their transition into college life.

 

The Week of Wilderness is held from Sunday, August 17th through Saturday, August 23rd. Participants will arrive Sunday the 17th by 12pm and return Saturday morning.  Participants living on campus may bring their belongings on the 17th and will be stored in a secure locked room for the duration of the week.

Refund Policy: Participants may receive a full refund, less $75, if requested before August 8. No refunds will be issued after August 8.
