Faculty and Staff
UC Merced faculty and staff members can purchase month-to-month memberships for $35 per month. You can enroll yourself and your spouse/domestic partner for $55 per month. Payment for faculty and staff memberships can be made in person at the recreation center. If you wish to sign up for payroll deduction, forms are available at the front desk of the recreation center.
Currently enrolled undergraduates and graduate students do not need to purchase memberships -- your student fees provide access to the facilties.
A limited number of memberships are available to individuals in the follwoing categories. Registration for these memberships are done in person at the Joseph Edward Gallo Recreation Center.
- Student Summer
- UC Merced alumni (affiliate rate)
- UC alumni (affiliate rate)
- Spouse/domestic partner of currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
- Campus affiliate (i.e. temporary UC Merced employee, Hallmark Group members)

An additional $20 card fee will be charged to the member when first enrolled to cover the cost of a CatCard. Membership renewals will not be subject to the $20 card fee.
Students who were previously enrolled in UC Merced in the spring semester but not in the summer may purchase a summer membership for $73.
Daily guest passes are $10, and the user must be sponsored by a current UC Merced student or faculty/staff member who holds a current gym membership.
Semester memberships are prorated based upon the date of sign up. Recreation staff members can provide rate information at the front desk of the recreation center.
Registration for memberships is done in person at the recreation center. Membership fees are dull in full at time of registration. We accept cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover).
